The Eero system we have is going on 4 years without a glitch. It is reliable and works great for extended coverage. You can mix and match eero units regardless of 1st, 2nd or 3rd generations. You will need to have one unit as a wired base (ie: eero pro) to your incoming modem and then you simply add on additional wireless units to increase your wi-fi coverage area. We started with just two 2nd Gen Pro units an now have total of five units scattered about the house and have coverage to whole house, attached garage, two metal outbuildings and about 50+ yards anywhere outside (we live on an acreage). We have roughly 30+ connections at any given time for cell phones, laptops, security cameras, Roku and Firesticks. In the eero application you can see what is connected to each unit at any given time. It is a very easy system to set up and maintenance is virtually zero. Having a multiple unit wi-fi mesh system like the eero is the only way to go in my opinion (retired IT guy).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
