You don’t need to use the app each time you use the cup but it is required for initial set up

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately, no. You will need a cellphone - not even a computer - to change the temperature. However, the mug comes pre-set with a temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a good, middle-ground setting. If you're good with that temperature, then you don't really need an app to make changes. But if you want to change the default temperature, you need a cellphone. Moreover, many have observed that the Android phone app is buggy, whereas I can say from experience that the iPhone app works without a problem.
