Do you have to get a subscription for ink? null

You do not need an ink subscription. Unless you are going to print A LOT of documents every day, I would simply use the full containers of ink that come with the printer and then purchase them as needed. You can easily see in the little tank windows when the ink is getting low and the printer will also warn you. The ink lasts a long time.
