Hi Thomas69, Your Epson Pro ET-5150 does have scan to text capabilities. Once you receive it, download the Drivers and Utilities Combo Package Installer from the Epson support site for the ET-5150 and install it. It includes software and an optical character reading utility. Then use Epson ScanSmart or Epson Scan 2 to scan a document and save as a searchable PDF. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
