• Yes, I used it in the oven for a meat. Had the oven at 450 degrees and waited until the inside temp reached 160 for a pork loin. Came out great!

• Yes, only the probe with the metal cord goes in the oven. You can see the temperature of the meat as it cooks. You leave the thermometer outside of the oven. Great, no guessing and opening the oven to check!

• Yes it is. I use it when cooking roasts in both the oven and on the grill. Just remember to use a potholder when pulling the probe out!

• I have only used it in a hot charcoal grill. So far it works great.
