you can place it in workout mode by holding the button on the side for a few seconds and then it will track all your activity as a workout that is separate from the during the day stats.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There's a button on the side that you hold down to tell the device you're beginning a workout. The only issue is that it will sometimes detect the movement of your arms while lifting weights as steps taken. In order to change this you'll go onto the app on your phone or the website and tell the Fitbit that you were lifting weights, that way it will act purely as a heart rate monitor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have done 2 weight workouts since I started using the Charge HR. It recognized the workouts but called them cycling. I don't use particularly heavy weights - no more than 110 pounds on anything (I'm retired) so that may be my problem. I don't know if you can change the category from cycling to weight workout. Just haven't had the desire to pursue that.
