Yes, it does for running, just as accurately as normal running. For walking sometimes it may miss a few steps, but it is surprisingly accurate.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Fitbit Zip will will work on a treadmill but if you are running it will only track the distance based on steps. Typically if I run a 5 K it will only show that I took about 4800 steps when the distance if walking is over 6000 steps. If you walk at a quick pace it will track the steps and be more accurate with the distance.
