You need an internet connection to download most of the game data. The physical disc contains only a small part of the game and is useless without the day one download over the internet. Be prepared for a substantially large download which will require a reasonably good connection.

Thanks for asking! Forza Horizon 5 is an online social game, so an Internet connection connection is required. While there is an offline mode, you will need to connect to the Internet for a Day 1 update during installation.
