“When the door is fully open, does this affect the width dimension ?”

Just a little. You can open up the door most of the way without it affecting the width. If you open it ALL THE WAY it’s a few inches wider. We really like this freezer overall.

No the door opens directly in the front. It doesn't fold back past the front of the freezer.

When I open the door to 90 degrees fully accessible, it extends about 3/4 inch wider.
