Hi, Tomgreenvalley! No worries; lower temperatures should not affect the functionality of the freezer. It should be fine for garage use! We do recommend taking caution if the temperature is upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit and shutting the freezer off if necessary to preserve the cooling system. ~Ashton
