“Are replacement parts available for the current model? I owned one of these and after about 18 months the top section stopped working. I took it in for repair, they called Frigidaire, and learned that replacement parts were not available. It's bad enough that the unit failed but worse that it couldn't be repaired.”

No, most of these units are "throw aways" e.g. don't spend a lot of money on them. Buy what you need only and don't buy off brands.
