“I saw a hole at the back on the top that is covered by a thin tape. what does that hole do? shall i uncover it? Also, is the compress and other parts of the unit suppose to be exposed? mine is, wondering whether it shall have been covered.”

• Hole in the back is Freon access for service. Leave alone. And yes, it is supposed to be open in the back - it's how it dump excess heat from the refrigerant system. Do not enclose it or you will get poor performance / premature failure of the unit.
