I have been using this fridge for over a month now with daily usage and still going strong. No issues with the packaging or noticed any dents when unpacking as others have reviewed. I will say, to save you any trouble I overlooked that once you get the packing cords off, you can just lift the box up as the boxing comes in parts. It took me some unnecessary effort tearing the box apart overlooking the easy pull apart packing. Let’s make this clear, this is NOT a Frost Free fridge – at least this particular model. You will have to manually defrost it and how often will depend on your usage, temperature, etc. I have noticed the frost builds up quite often since I use both compartments practically daily. It is enough where the flimsy door cover for the freezer compartment will not close all the way if you don’t defrost around the edges of the freezer compartment. Don’t let this sway you, as I have said it before everyone’s usage and environment is different as you read other reviews too. This fridge is really quiet and unless you are in a library you probably can’t even hear or notice the compressor kick in unless it’s the first time you turn on the fridge. I put in a temperature gauge to monitor the temperature since the settings don’t really tell you what the constant temperature is for each settings on the dial. I will say if you leave it at MAX without opening the fridge for a day or so, your top shelf and items in the back can actually freeze. Again, like everything else, it does vary especially with a full fridge and how often you open it. So I tend to put it at MAX if I noticed the temperature drops in order to cool it fast and dial it back from there based on my temperature readings on my gauge and where I want the fridge to be at. Overall, the settings are pretty constant for temperatures, but may require multiple adjustments based on your usage and amount of items you have in the fridge. The glass shelves are a nice touch, but they are not in fixed grooves so you can easily lift them from the bottom or if you have items taller than the height between shelving. Not too much of an issue since you will be placing items on the glass shelves, but note they are loose. I can easily store a 3lb bag of ice in the freezer compartment and it keeps ice frozen with multiple daily usage. The soda can holder is a nice touch and I have used it to store other items instead of soda cans too – just have to be creative. The only negative I have is that the door shelves cannot hold small thin bottles such as a vanilla extract bottle by itself without worrying it slipping through the door holder. Not a problem if its full, but anything small and loose, you may want to have like a small container that can fit on the door so they don’t fall when you open the door. Having said all of that, this is a great fridge for the money and convenience where I don’t think you can go wrong here.

      Basic "dorm" style mini-refrigerator

This is a very basic unit: single door, ice-cube tray freezer section, 3+ cubic feet. Good for holding small amounts of food items and beverages. On testing, I have found that the refrigerator section tends to way over-chill - it is hard to keep items in it from freezing - while the tiny freezer compartment can barely freeze ice cubes. I added some styrofoam insulation to the defrosting tray under the freezer compartment to help balance the temperatures, with moderate success. This unit does have removable glass shelves (for easy cleaning), an interior light, and a temperature dial. But it also wastes space with a clumsy to use built-in soda can "tower" that is hard to access and can't be used for anything else. There are also no vegetable/fruit bins. Note: as with ALL mini-refrigerators these days, the compressor coolant is propane (not freon or other CFC). This is done for environmental purposes, but is a yet-to-be-proven technology. Previous experience and comments from appliance repairmen indicate that these compressors will have very short life spans. One to two years is typical, but we had three previous Kenmore models fail in just 18 months. If the compressor dies, repair isn't an option, as it would cost more than a new unit.So... Regretfully, consider this an "expendable." Therefore, against usual purchase recommendations, I got, and highly recommend, purchasing the available extended warranty for this product. Of course, it may last for four years, but I'm not willing to bet on it. Bottom line: it's cheap, mostly functional, and serves its purpose. If it lasts for several years, it will be worth the outlay.

Delivery was as promised. It sat, boxed up in an apartment waiting for move in day. This was for our daughter who is just starting college. When we removed the refrigerator out of the box, the door was dented in a couple of places. There was styrofoam packing and the 'fridge was in a large plastic bag. Somehow this was damaged and slipped past inspection, or was a damaged, returned and repackaged item! Our daughter wanted to be able to use it right away, understandably with all her other new things, so we brought it up to her dorm room and plugged it in anyway. So far it's working fine. I called Best Buy and was told they can't do anything now and gave me the number to Electrolux, the parent company of Frigidaire, along with a suggestion of a DIY project on how to cover the door! So now I'm doing the old run around to get this issue resolved. Both company's reps I have spoken to are very nice, however I'd like a resolution. Granted this didn't break the bank to purchase, but you'd think when you purchase a new item, it would not be damaged. If it is, customer service (seller/manufacturer) would take care of the issue immediately in order to keep a satisfied customer base returning.

      Unit Stop working in 7-8month

      Posted
      Leon

I got this unit from BestBuy in March 2014. About 7-8 months later the unit stop cooling. It start to make a loud noise. Called Frigidaire and they advised to bring the unit to BestBuy for replacement. Bought it to bestbuy and they said they can't do anything, and tell me to call Frigidaire customer service again.. Did that.. and for over a week was so happy that the Frigidaire said they will replace a new unit for me since Bestbuy does not do it.. BUT few days later got a call from Frigidaire said that they won't replace it and i should bring it out to bestbuy and tell them to call the Company directory to get it fix.. Did that and bestbuy again said they can't do anything.. One of the worst experience ever with bestbuy and Frigidaire ... My advice is if you were to buy a Frigidaire from anywhere.. It best to get the store warranty as well.. going thru the manufacture is a waste of time.,. End up got nothing..

Open-Box Excellent Condition FAR FROM EXCELLENT

I bought this fridge as an open box item and it was described as being in excellent condition. How could I go wrong? Well first of all Best Buy shipped the item in the original box without the bottom of the box. They simply put tape across the entire bottom part of the box to keep the fridge in. Upon arrival, 1 of the 2 feet cracked, the other was missing and the door hinge was cracked. When I opened the fridge, everything smelled of mold. The manual was wet and disintegrated when I removed it. Obviously some one had bought this, used it, returned it. Since none of the shelves were taped down like a new fridge should be, they were mangled and the tempered glass had chips. I called Best Buy to tell them what happened. They said they would send me an UPS return label. Never received it. Called them again. Nothing. I lugged this refrigerator to my local Best Buy. They said they were unable to return open box items that were purchased online. I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charges in order to get my money back.

When I went looking for a good small refrigerator, I might not have purchased this one if there were several to choose from. In fact, it was the ONLY small refrig in the store that day! I needed it then and bought this one. First off, Best Buy is so understaffed, I had to search high and low to even find a sales person to get it down from the overhead shelf for me. I did recruit a salesperson from the computer department and he was not only particularly helpful but friendly too - it made the search wothwhile! It has turned out to be a very good quality unitand it is pretty decent looking too. My only complaint, if I had to search for one, would be the TINY freezer section. Otherwise, no complaints - a good basic refrig unit that does an excellent job, is quiet and also looks good. (I suspect the reason there was such a minimal stock of small refrigerators was because the University of California, Merced, was close to starting the semester and the students probably sucked up all the small refrigerators for their dorm rooms!) The price was actually a little better than those listed on the Costco website - and the local Costco didn't have them in stock at that time either.

I was looking for a great little refrigerator for my downstairs area. Did not want anything large, just a good size was water and drinks, etc. I was looking at another brand but was told by a friend who retired from Best Buy that it would be better to pay a little more and get the Frigidair brand. It is a very nice finish and came packed extremely well. The only thing different from the description is that it says it has a crisper drawer. It does not. But this was not important to me, so no problem. I knew this from a review that I read before buying. Also, the shelves are glass, which makes for easy cleaning. I am having a little concern over the thermostat or I would given a five star rating. It seems hard to get the adjustment just right. We recently put a six pack of Coke in the bottom. One bottle was frozen solid. My daughter who was visiting had put some fruit in there, which froze. I will watch this and call the warranty department if it continues. It may be an issue of finding the correct setting. But seems awfully cold, regardless of the setting.

The fridge works fine but was disappointed in overall quality. I wanted to reverse the door and this fridge is advertised as having reversible door and comes with instructions for doing so. However, when attempting to do so I discovered the pre-drilled holes were blocked - looked like by someone cutting off screws. The plastic covers for the screw holes broke when trying to remove them even though I did not use much force so now there are cosmetic issues. Plus there was a dent on the top on opening the box. Since I bought this fridge brand new and not open box that was an unpleasant surprise. The fridge was also difficult to level and still doesn't open without tipping unless you hold it back. Kind of disappointed in both Best Buy and this product
