• No, the unit should not be tipped on it's side.

• The guy at the store recommended that it can be lay down but you have to wait twice as much time that it spent sideways before turning it on so that the gas settles properly

• yes it can be transported on its side but then you must stand it upright one hour for every hour it was not preferably 24 hours upright before you plug it in to be safe since you don"t know if it was upright in the store
