“I have great Bluetooth connection in my Accord. Can I just use my phone for the live traffic without using it for calls, texts, etc.? Is the live traffic on all the time when my phone is connected through the app or can I selectively turn it on? Thanks.”

It is possible to turn off phone calls through your Garmin device, so that calls can be taken through your phone instead. The traffic service can still be used in this case. Traffic through Smartphone Link is always active as long as the application is running on your phone. -MH
