“I bought a 7" Garmin a few years ago, and did the connection to my computer. There has never been an update to that model in 6 years. I even called to see if there were are available. How can I be sure there are updates to this model”

This unit definitely gets updates when available. One of the features I like about this model is that it can receive updates directly from a wireless network rather than plugging it in to your computer to get them. That's very helpful if you're on the road and you don't have your laptop with you. Of course, you can still get them from the Garmin Express app on your computer if you prefer.

On mine, since it's the newest version, every time I booth up, it checks automatically if there is or need to update. I hope I've answered your question. Sincerely , Mikey.
