• I do not know if this can be used in Canada, but I am about to return the one I purchased. It changes my routes constantly, and often ends up taking me in circles instead of to my destination. It has rerouted me to the wrong place multiple times.

• It has map coverage for all of north America, But check with Garmin's web site to be sure. It is a little difficult to remove from the mounting attachment, but the unit is great and has a clear screen. Good luck.
