Hi AJH60605-this is Sue from GE Appliances. We are sorry to hear of this unfortunate experience. This is certainly not the evaluation we would expect to hear as we are committed to manufacturing quality products for our consumers. We would like to communicate with you directly and would like some additional information. Please contact us by email at the following link: http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/contact/- Also, we suggest to check the installation. Over-the-range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. For reference, see page 8 of the Installation Instructions online: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40675-2.pdf- Thanks for reaching out to us and for the opportunity to provide assistance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Make sure your microwave is mounted the required minimum distance from the burners . Use the exhaust fan to dissipate heat and steam when cooking . I have not experienced this problem ( even with a previous GE microwave that I had for many years)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have had over range style microwaves ever since they came out. We have never had issues due to heat from the range in over 20 years.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, if it gets really hot the exhaust fan will automatically come on reduce the heat.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The over the range models are designed to be used in this location. Why would you ask your question? There is a distance guideline for clearance over the range. And you are not expected to run all your stove top burners at their highest settings all at once and then run the microwave too. The point of the microwave is to avoid using the stove and cook something more quickly than the stove.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
