Hello, thank you for reaching out about this microwave. The 30 second button will work the same as the other model you were looking at. It will add 30 seconds to the time counting down each time the pad is pressed. Each touch will add 30 seconds, up to 99 minutes and 99 seconds. The button can also be used like an express 30 seconds button. The microwave oven will start immediately when pressed.
