All food processors do that. I dislike the brands where the chunk of food spins around on the top of the disc, jamming the works. You have to stop the machine, unclick the plunger, twist off the lid, then remove the food avoiding the sharp blade, then put everything back in place only to repeat it all a bit later. The GE, though, throws the chunks into the bowl. You don't have to stop feeding the chute to unclog the disc. When you're done feeding the chute, then fish the chunks out of the work bowl. Much faster & easier.
