Hello, Thanks for reaching out! Great question. On page 6 of the owner's manual, it instructs that the unit should not be turned on if the temperature outside is 32 or below. Therefore, you shouldn't attempt any cycle when it is freezing. Additionally, there is limited performance when the outside temperature is below 70. The lower the temperature, the less effective the unit will be. This is because the unit may either freeze up and need to defrost or cycle on and off more often as it constantly reaches the lowest set temperature. We hope this helps! Thanks. -HannahGEA
