Hi MJ - Thanks for reaching out to us and for your patience! We appreciate your interest in this top load washer and are happy to answer this for you. The minimum clearance needed for proper installation between the washer and adjacent walls is 3" in the rear, 2" in the front, and 0" on either side. We hope that this helps! -Eliza@GEA
