• Yes, if you're going through HDMI. However, the newer Chromecast Audio device has a 3.5mm aux connection specifically for this purpose.

• Yes - as long as your receiver is compatible. I plugged mine into my receiver using one of the auxiliary HDMI ports, and it works perfectly.

• Yes and no. The comecast only has an HDMI connection with digital audio.. However HDMI to VGA adaptors exist with an analog audio out, which would allow you to connect it to your audio system.

• I have mine attached to a Yamaha receiver also on my home network and can cast from the computer to the receiver. I have not tried from my iphone that needs chrome enabled players and Pandora is not enealbe.
