• You can stream to the Chromecast not the other way around. So you can stream whatever from your laptop to TV using the Chromecast Cast extensions (download through Google Chrome Browser) and you can use the experimental feature to allow you to mirror your web browser or even the whole computer screen to your TV.

• I use my laptop as well as my mobile device for streaming. Once it's plugged into your TV, paired with your wifi, and you download Google Cast into your Chrome browser, you're good to go.

• I have streamed with my laptop I just had to download the chrome cast app. I've only streamed videos though so not sure what else it is capable of with the laptop.

• Sure, it would then allow you to transfer/mirror what ever you want to pull up on your phone/tablet. This is not like Apple TV, it simply a mirroring device and not a very good one...

• The Chromecast streams TO the tv. It links with wifi through your device...whether it's your phone, tablet or computer. Hope this answers your question.
