It will work as long as you install Google Chrome on your laptop. I've used mine with a Mac Mini, you just need to download the ChromeCast extension and configure it.

Yes, any decent laptop recently on the market should be able to handle it. Make sure you are using the chrome browser with the chromecast extension added for best performance.

I think the OS makes more difference than the brand of laptop. If you are running windows 7 or higher and can use a Google Chrome browser, I'm betting yes.

There is a Chrome extension that lets you "Tab-cast". I haven't used it myself but I think it's considered an "experimental" feature. I guess thats their way of saying if it doesn't work, its because they haven't ironed out the kinks. I don't know if they have a similar feature for other browsers.

Yes as long as you have Google Chrome browser. There is an extension that allows you to cast to the tv whatever is in your browser.

As far as I know, it works with any computer that has Google Chrome and the Chromecast add-on. I've connected three different laptops to it from time to time and they all work fine.
