Thanks for the question. The Google Home Speaker requires an active Wi-Fi connection for Gemini to process requests and provide responses. If your internet connection is down, the device will not be able to access Gemini's features or perform online tasks.

No in the fine print clearly says internet required. The new google 4k streamer has a basic functionality like you asked but not this product for turning lights on/off if no internet.
