• Thanks for the question. The Google Home Speaker requires an active Wi-Fi connection for Gemini to process requests and provide responses. If your internet connection is down, the device will not be able to access Gemini's features or perform online tasks.

• No in the fine print clearly says internet required. The new google 4k streamer has a basic functionality like you asked but not this product for turning lights on/off if no internet.
