1. The 3G connectivity is an error. These units do NOT have communication aside from wifi, where they communicate with each other and the app. 2. No subscription costs. 3. If your wifi goes down: A: only the unit sounding the alarm will alert. The other units will not B: You will not recieve a remote notification.

Please try again later.If internet connection is lost and a fire/CO emergency occurs, the detectors would activate and alarm, but would not have any means to communicate the event outside the home. You either have internet service or you don’t. Nest does not charge for their app, and so your only cost is what you pay for internet access anyway. There is no need for a smoke/CO detector subscription. If you purchase a Nest door alarm with video and you want the 24/7 monitoring video available for several days for recall at anytime, they offer such a service inexpensively by subscription.
