No, can't be used as a stand-alone device. Must be paired with a Nest Thermostat

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, the remote thermostat connects via WiFi directly to a Nest thermostat. It can be connected and not used for control, but there must be a Nest thermostat in the house for it to connect to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can connect to Nest Thermostat and just set it to not adjust temperature for that room. You can also set for it to adjust temperature for that room only at certain times, which is how I have it for my bedroom only at night.
