It doesn't control different rooms, it registers a local temp (i.e room you placed it in) and that temp is used by the thermostat to raise/lower temp accordingly. Unless you have zones in your home / per rooms and multiple thermostats this will raise/lower entire home relative to the room you put the sensor in vs room where thermostat is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It only changes where your temperature is sensed. If you have a room or area that is colder or warmer then at the thermostat, it allows you to control that zone from a different spot. We used one for my mother in law, her bedroom is colder then the rest of the house, it’s over the garage. We use the remote sensor at night so her room stays warm and the thermostat during the day.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This product does not adjust your thermostat in the main areas. It tells you what each individual roomstemperature is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nest Temperature Sensor helps you monitor the temperature of a specific room. When you set the sensor as your main temperature sensor, your Nest thermostat kicks in to heat or cool based on the temperature reading of the sensor. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The controls for this are found and set in the Nest app. The temperature modules let you run the heating cooling based on your setting for that particular room temp. Example of the thermostat temp in the hallway (where main Nest unit is) reads 79 but the room where the temperature sensor is shows 81, you can set Nest to key off that sensor instead of the main unit and cool to a desired temperature in the room. Once that temperature reaches the desired temp then it will cut off.
