Hello there, Ron. Thanks for your interest. Nest Wifi Pro requires to be connected to a modem with broadband internet connection from an Internet Service Provider (ISP). Check out this link for the setup requirements and guide: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9548301
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'll have to have internet service for this to work. A mesh setup like the Google Nest or Eero basically function as wireless routers to amplify the wireless range and coverage if you have weak spots at your location. For example, currently your router is at one end of your house, and you have trouble getting Wi-Fi at the other end of your house, or upstairs, etc. You'd use one of these as your main router, than place others in locations where you have weak signal. But you have to have internet for these to work. Hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a Wi-Fi extender. You need to have a router currently working this amplifies the Wi-Fi to reach further and gives you more strength in those hard to reach places. My router is on the west side of my house and we use the extender in the middle and east side were signal is week.
