• Sure you can go down 4 meters, you will be able to record after you pause,

• Yes, you can start and stop recording using the shutter button on top of the camera once the GoPro is powered on. Another option is to leave the GoPro powered off and then press the shutter button. That will activate the Quik Capture mode, which will power on the GoPro and start it recording automatically. Then, when you're done recording, press the shutter button again and the recording will stop and the GoPro will power off.
