“I have a boiler and would be using this for heat only. However, the zone valve requires power to open and power to close the valve. Can the thermostat do this with a 3 wire system?”

I would call Honeywell and ask. ( honeywellhome.com PHONE: 1-800-633-3991) It seems I read somewhere that it does not work everywhere. They are very good to call and may tell you which of their thermostats would be best for you to use.
