• This vacuum cleaner is good for bare floors and rugs. The vacuum cleaner ON / OFF switch has 2 positions. 1. Suction "ON" with no-spinning bar. Suction "On" with spinning bar spinning like mad. Just use the mode with spinning bar off. This vacuum does a wonderful job on carpets. Also does a good job in households with Pets.

• I bought it to use on tile floors and hardwood. I think it does a great job, and can be used with the roller brush to vacuum area rugs.

• Absolutely, we use daily on wood floors, tile and carpet. We have two of these - one for each floor of our house. The Linx does not replace a full size vacuum, but for everyday, quick clean ups (we have three dogs), it is by far the best cordless on the market. Fully charged, the vacuum runs for up to 15 mins.
