• Yes. Wordpad, a "stripped down" version of Microsoft Word, is built into Windows 10, and should be fine for writing stories. Or you could buy a word processing program (or app), or download a free one from the internet.

• This laptop comes with Word Pad, a very simple word processor. Microsoft Office (which includes Word) can be purchased for this laptop.
