If the customer-supplied photos are of the Model 15-fd0127dx (SKU: 6612253) advertised, HP's replies on this question are inaccurate. These photos clearly show two standard SODIMM slots and corresponding modules, meaning they can be easily replaced by the owner, not soldered in chips, as HP states. I searched MemoryStock and they say that the RAM can be upgraded to 32GB (2x16GB). Feel free to fact check me.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is NOT soldered to the motherboard! There are 2 open slots and it will run with 64GB! Open it up and look... mine runs AMAZING after the 64GB upgrade. A good SSD with the upgrade and that a10 7th gen 9600 will really ROCK games like Crysis 3 and the like!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.P.S.: I rechecked this question due to the variance of answers. MemoryStock now declares it can be upgraded to 64GB RAM. AI states the RAM is soldered to the mobo, and cannot be upgraded. So if you can live with the 16GB, it's probably a good deal, but if you think you might need more, I suggest looking elsewhere, just to be safe.
