• This used to work fine on a macbook Air, in Spring 2019 I got a macbook pro and the resolution won't adjust correctly. similarly reported here https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/297287/external-monitor-screen-too-large

• As long as the Mac has an output matching the inputs on this monitor, YES. That's always the concern.
