I went to insert my 2nd cartridge and was told it was counterfeit Had purchased it as a 2-pack at Best Buy, didn't believe it. Turned the printer on & off. It worked. Got a popup from HP saying install was correct and an offer for more WHY? null

It has happened to me what I do is take it out put it back in turn printer on/off that usually work.

Not sure maybe printer did not recognize cartridge -or not HP but would not buy cartridge from anyone not authorized to sell product.

Right now Hp is promoting their Instant Ink program and therefore you will get these popups often.
