Most likely the cartridge was not properly installed the first attempt. The machine noticed and also was relieved when it was done properly.

Sometimes the printer is slow to read the ink cartridge id. I'm glad it ended up registering it as okay!

The cartridge I initially installed was not part of the print ink system so it did not recognize it. It was necessary to clear the printer to accept the the cartridge which was sent to me from the print ink system
