• Correct. It needs to be replaced if one color is finished… You can still keep printing with the other two colors but the results you can imagine how it is

• Great question! The other colors and black may try to compensate to create like-colors for certain images, but if you are out of magenta (for example) and need to print magenta font, you will need to purchase a new cartridge. If you prefer, you could also sign up for HP Instant Ink, a service which will detect when your ink is low and ship you new cartridges before you run out, at no extra cost!
