“After I'm finished copying, should I turn off the printer or is it OK to leave it on?”

• It doesn’t hurt to leave it on. If you’re signed up for the Instant Ink refills you are supposed to leave it on. Plus having it on allows you to use HP Smart to print from anywhere. Warning though is that there is a light that stays on which will be adding on to your electric bill.

• You can leave it on, provided that you've left the printer to where it will go into "sleep mode"-the printer will be looking for a print job-it draws less than 2 watts when it's sleeping, so it draws less in a month than a 60 watt light bulb does if it's turned on for one hour. If you've not let the printer go into sleep mode, then by all means shut it off on the power button on the printer.
