Hello, in order to fax you would have to have a telephone line connected to it, whether that is a standard land line or through a VoIP telephone cable. You also have the option to fax through the HP Smart App, as well as through a Fax Service such as eFax, or through the Windows Fax and Scan feature. I hope that this answered your question!
