“I plug a HDMI cable from this to my monitor which I know works and the laptop does not seem to recognize it is connected. I get no option to extend or use only the monitor instead. Is there some sort of setting I need to change to use an external monitor?”

• Right click on desktop. Go to Nvidia control panel. Multiple displays. If not recognize second display, try different hdmi cable.

• Thank you for the question. You'll need to connect the external monitor to the laptop's HDMI port or the USB Type-C port (that supports DisplayPort). Open display settings to set up mirror or extended display, and main display, and secondary.display.
