Underneath the paper tray in the center is a grab indent that will help you get a hold on the paper tray and ease it out to fill. You might try cycling it open and closed a couple of times to help break the guides in and make it easier to move.

If you lift the top cover the drawer will be able to pull out easily. YouTube has available videos for this device. Thank you for being an HP customer!
