Adding a tuner, and even basic bookshelf speakers will far exceed the sound of any flat TV on board speakers. There is just not enough space for adequate speaker size, or an ideal firing direction with modern LCD tv's...so the insignia 2 channel receiver would be a nice upgrade. If you wanted surround sound, you would have to upgrade further to get a 5.1 capable receiver (and the additional speakers a 5.1 system would require).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most all televisions output on stereo (Left/Right) audio, regardless of the input source, unless that source happens to be its own internal ATSC tuner.... Will it sound better than using the TVs internal speakers? For sure. Best bet would be hook your sources directly to the receiver, and then the receiver to the TV. If you do use the internal ATSC tuner, then you can run a Toslink cable from the TV back to the receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This unit is not a replacement for a home theater entertainment system.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pair this with ANY big name TV and you won't be sorry. The sound is crystal on any setting. I appreciate mine for the movie setting alone. No more background stuff drowning out the dialogue! I have a Vizio and I'm super happy with this pairing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Abosolutly None, no need to match Brand names! It was Snake Oil back in the days...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, other than the brands will match, which is nice if you have OCD.
