Sounds great to me! I'm old school, played in bands, vinyl records, etc. Full rich sound once adjusted to the speakers and input.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have two small sony speakers connected to it and am shocked at how great it sounds, even at high listening levels. The audio on FM and BT sound full and clean. I haevn't tried other inputs yet.

Please try again later. You're right about the new receivers, they're not what they used to be like the 50 lb. big tube amps, however, in the digital age all that extra hardware is outdated. The Insignia NS-STR514 does have plenty of power to drive some bookshelf, in-wall, outdoor speakers. It does have tone control to adjust bass and treble. I like turn up the bass max and back off the treble a bit, and it sounds great!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Full sound, but nothing like the massive receivers of the 70's and 80's that weighed 60 pounds. For a lightweight receiver it sounds pretty good
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a good quality device. There is no sound degradation at all. (Not sure where you have been shopping).
