Probably. I use mine as a monitor for my desktop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I connect it via the HDMI port on my laptop. But note that the TV has overscan turned on by default. This basically puts the outside edges of the picture behind the monitor bezels. Overscan can be turned off in the settings but it compresses the picture so it's not displayed in native resolution. This in turn makes the picture less sharp than it is with overscan on. Text can become difficult to read depending on the font and the font size. Images and streaming (YouTube, Netflix, etc) still looks pretty good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When connecting this TV to a laptop via HDMI, the display on the TV may be larger than the actual screen. To resolve, hit the Picture button on the remote and change Picture Mode to Game. The screen will resize and the desktop will display properly on the screen. (tested on Lenovo X1 with Windows 10 Enterprise)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your laptop has a HDMI output or you use an adapter for VGA to HDMI like this. StarTech.com - HDMI to VGA Video Converter
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I hooked 2 of these on my rig. Lenovo T480s -(USB-C)-> Lenovo 40AC dock via DisplayPort (cable)-> HDMI. Fedora 33. Works fine. Sound goes over the wire too without extra cables. One remote for both works. Both fit under the roof of my Ikea Desk, mounted on a pole via VESA mounts. Hmm,, noting overscan display issues reported in a nearby post. Lets see....

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Most definitely, as long as your laptop has HDMI output, or VGA output with an VGA to HDMI adapter cable. I bought this monitor to use as a second monitor for my gaming desktop as well as a TV to hook my original softmodded Xbox up to and it works great. It does not have HD Component (Red Green Blue) though but it does have classic component (Red White Yellow) and no VGA port (Which is why a VGA to HDMI adapter would be necessary in that instance.)
