“I plugged my son’s PlayStation 5 into the back of the tv. And it’s not registering that there’s anything plugged in to any of the 3 hdmi ports. The cord and PlayStation works on the other tv. Am I missing a step”

Just restart your TV and remember to set the PlayStation 5 to the right display resolution as the TV. It is all in the display menus in the settings of both items.
