Since this is a smart Fire TV, having an internet connection is necessary during the setup process as you would need to login to your amazon account and update software if necessary. After the initial setup, you can just configure your dish network and internet wouldn't be necessary anymore. One option you can do as a workaround is to connect it to a mobile hotspot instead.     • Answer I have been able to get many of my channels from DISH network on the Insignia. After you download the app, it will ask if you have the channel. get on the channel website and put in the code on the Insignia with the remote.
