“I want to place next to a sliding glass door that has high heat from sun coming in. I want just to blow cool air. There is no window near my sliding glass door. Does the unit have to be vented? Can I use for cool air without a vent?”

I’d suggest a curtain on that window (blackout curtain) to minimize heat. For your specific question you don’t absolutely need to vent out a window... buttttt when the machine cools... it blows out hot air from the vent. Btw if you do decide to get one.. they’re awesome I have two!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Needs to be vented but you could probably set up the vent in your sliding glass door as it is very slim and can be put sideways kinda like a removable pet door. You just have to be a little handy & creative.
